First Christian Church – has a long history in Henry County. All around Central Indiana, we are known for our distinctive building and by our many ministries that serve others in love.
Members of our congregation gather to worship God, study the Bible, and learn how to love one another. Not one person in our church or community is perfect or lives without problems. We all have friends and neighbors who are hurt and wounded. Externally, they may try to mask their pain through hard work, leisure, and makeup. But internally, their hearts are desperate as they wrestle with feelings of helplessness and hopelessness. Scripture sums up our role as believers in what Jesus called “The Greatest Commandment:”
“’ Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
Which leads members of our faith community to.....Love God and Love others!
We Strive to Love God and Love others.
To develop fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ who fulfill the Great Commandment and the Great Commission.
And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart… And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Matthew 22:37, 39
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you…” Matthew 28:19-20
1.) Bible-Directed
But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word. Acts 6:4
2.) Prayer-Driven
He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer.’” Matthew 21:13
3.) Outreach-Focused
How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” Romans 10:14-15
